"Frog
Pond Farm Folk Art Gallery" North, and Frog Pond Studio,
South were created
as outlets where people who want to
purchase or order custom creations of
ours can come and
browse, or contact us through e-mail, or by phone. Ferroart.com
was created as an online photo album and description of what we
do there.
The
Ferro's, of Little York, NY, have been creating art of all
mediums, and selling
on the road for many years. Their work has
been represented in art galleries
and at shows all over the U.S.
as well as parts of Europe.
As
a joint venture between Tino & Carole Ferro, and two of their
six children,
Tony and Selinda, they have formed "Frog Pond Farm
Folk Art Gallery"
in Little York, NY and "Frog Pond Studio South" in
St. Pauls, NC.
At these locations they create and sell "Ferroart"
which is art
created by the Ferro family artists.
The
word Ferro, which happens to be our last name, in some
languages descibes
"ferrous" metal, a metal containing iron such
as steel which we
do our most popular and perhaps our best work
in. We work with about 90% recycled
or "preused" materials
which makes our style very unique as well
as environmentally
friendly.
The
name "Ferroart" was developed to descibe tha art we do as a
group.
We also work in different mediums as individuals.
Tino
and Carole work as a team on metal sculpture with Tino as
the main "idea
man", with the creative mind and ability to
construct. Wife Carole does
most of the painting of the
sculptures. Son Tony also paints some of the metal
sculptures as
well as helping father Tino to create some of the larger pieces
and custom work. Tino and Carole do some wood carved and
painted furniture
and Folk Art Paintings which are a gallery
favorite.
Tony
creates functional art from twigs and slabwood. He makes
furnishings such
as chairs, benches, tables and stools from cedar,
larch and other native hard
and softwoods. Tony's hand carved
and painted furniture, sculptures, mirrors
and paintings of many
mediums fill the gallery.
Selinda
creates very unique and one of a kind decorative and
functional pottery and
stepping stones, a gallery most favorite.
Selinda also paints and creates
in many mediums as an individual,
and works as a key member with Tino, Carole,
and Tony in
"Ferroart". You can have your idea custom created by
